Overview
Silent Echo is a visual novel for players who want a tense, body-horror-tinged sci-fi adventure with a darker edge. The tone stays grim and uneasy throughout, with transformation and combat elements woven into an otherwise story-driven experience.
Story
An elite agent is dispatched to Installation Echo, a corporate facility that has gone silent without explanation. Inside, latex-like creatures with strange powers now occupy the halls, and the agent must piece together what happened while facing the possibility that the facility's dangers may change them before they ever get out.
Gameplay
Players explore the facility from a first-person perspective, working through text-based dialogue and narrative choices while uncovering the cause of the disaster. Encounters with the installation's creatures bring turn-based combat into the mix, and physical transformation is a recurring consequence of these confrontations, affecting both the protagonist and the story's direction. Progress alternates between investigation, combat, and the fallout of each encounter.
